Cal Maritime honors 75 years in Vallejo

VALLEJO — Cadets at Cal Maritime Academy will honor the academy’s 75th year in Vallejo in the coming week.

Founded in 1929, Cal Maritime was initially known as the California Nautical Schools and subsequently changed its name in 1939.

Students earn a degree in a nautical discipline and participate in waterfront and shipboard training, where first and third year cadets are afforded the opportunity to embark on a two month summemr training adventure on the T.S. Golden Bear III.
