The Citadel is changing its rules about grooming to increase enrollment of female cadets.

Fourth class female cadets will no longer have to cut their hair upon matriculation. They are now permitted to adhere to U.S. Army standards, which are set by the Department of Defense.

This is a big step for the military college that didn’t allow the enrollment of women until 1996.
