Young cadets take flight in Old Town

The Civil Air Patrol at the National Flight Academy has afforded cadets ages 16 to 20 the opportunity to learn how to fly. Whereas it normally takes 20 to 30 hours to learn to fly, this course is so intensive, they complete it in just 10 hours.

16-year-Old George Grindle had no previous flight experience. After the completion of the program, the cadet can now say he’s flown a plane. George’s uncle, a pilot for Jet Blue, was his inspiration.

Zoe Stefani, a cadet from Los Angeles California, hopes to make aviation her career.
